E-Collar training
Tools Designed for real life.
At Circus Dog Training, we use high-quality, dog-safe e-collars that are built for real-world adventures. All of the collars we work with are:
Fully waterproof for rainy days, swimming, and outdoor play
Rechargeable, so you never have to worry about swapping batteries
Equipped with tone, vibration, and adjustable static settings
Designed with a lanyard for easy carrying during training and outings
We believe that the right equipment should make your life easier, not more complicated. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident using these tools so they simply become part of how you communicate with your dog — clear, simple, and consistent.
Training that builds trust.
Our e-collar training is built around clear, positive communication, never punishment. We start by teaching dogs a tone recall — meaning they learn to come happily to you when they hear a tone, just like responding to their name. We introduce vibration as a slightly stronger "attention grabber" or a gentle reminder to refocus.
Static correction is treated as a true last resort, used only in emergencies where there's a risk of:
Loss of life
Serious injury
Damage to property
Harm to another animal or person
If static is ever used, we set it at the lowest possible level that’s still effective — making it a calm, controlled form of communication, not fear-based correction.
We never require e-collar use for training, but for clients seeking reliable off-leash freedom, it can be an incredibly valuable tool when introduced the right way.

IN-Ground Fencing
Safe fredom, right at home.
An in-ground fence is a great way to give your dog safe access to your yard without the cost or visual impact of a traditional fence. At Circus Dog Training, we work with SportDog® in-ground fencing systems, offering full support for:
New system installations customized to your property
Layout changes to better suit your space and needs
Fence repairs to restore function and peace of mind
We know these systems inside and out — not just from the technical side, but from years of experience understanding how dogs think and learn around invisible boundaries. Our installations are clean, reliable, and thoughtfully planned to set both you and your dog up for success.
Training Makes the difference.
A fence alone isn’t enough — the real key to a successful in-ground system is proper training.
We take the time to teach your dog exactly what the fence means using positive, low-stress methods. Instead of relying on fear or confusion, we guide your dog through a step-by-step process that builds understanding, respect for the boundaries, and confidence in exploring safely.
Whether you're fencing a brand new yard, repairing an existing system, or adjusting your layout after a life event, we can help you create a backyard space that's safe, fun, and easy to maintain — often at a fraction of the cost of a physical fence, and in a way that’s compliant with most HOAs.
Our goal is always the same: to give you peace of mind and your dog the freedom to enjoy their home without worry.

FAQs
-
No - not the way we use it.
Our e-collar training focuses on communication, not punishment. We primarily use tone for recall, vibration for attention, and keep static correction as a true last resort. When static is used, it’s at the lowest effective level and only for emergencies where safety is at risk. Our goal is to make e-collar training a positive, empowering tool for you and your dog.
-
Not at all!
We never require e-collar use. E-collars are just one tool we offer for owners who want reliable off-leash freedom, but many of our clients succeed through other training methods depending on their goals and their dog’s personality. We’ll always help you choose the approach that’s best for you and your dog.
-
Yes - and that’s a good thing!
A fence alone isn’t enough to teach your dog where the boundaries are. We include training as part of the process to make sure your dog understands their new space in a clear, positive way. With the right introduction, your dog will confidently learn where they can play safely without confusion or fear.
-
Absolutely! We service a variety of in-ground fencing brands.
If you already have an in-ground fence and need repairs, layout changes, or retraining for a new dog, we can help. We have years of hands-on experience with these systems and can get your setup running smoothly again - often saving you the cost of a full replacement.
