 General Questions

  • We offer a variety of dog training services, including obedience training, puppy training, behavior modification, and assistance with aggression and reactivity. We do not train for sport or defense.

  • Our training methods are based on positive reinforcement techniques. We focus on rewarding good behavior to encourage repetition using treats, praise, and play. We avoid treat dependency and foster a relationship based on trust and communication.

  • The duration of training varies depending on the program and your individual dog’s needs. Our programs can range from one to three months.

  • Puppies can start training as early as 8 weeks old. Early training helps establish good behaviors and socialization skills from a young age.

  • We provide private in-home training sessions. We do occasionally offer group classes, and will advertise these events on our Facebook page.

  • In addition to his 7+ years of training experience, Quentin is certified through Blue as well as the PetSafe animal handling and behavioral training programs. He is constantly learning new ways to train and address behaviors so he can continue to find better ways to help owners connect with their dogs.

Specific training questions

  • We offer an initial consultation to assess your dog’s behavior and your training goals. Based on this assessment, we recommend the most suitable program for your needs.

  • Yes! We specialize in behavior modification, including aggressive behavior. We use positive reinforcement and behavior adjustment techniques to address and manage aggression.

  • Every dog learns at their own pace. If progress seems slow, we reassess and adjust our training methods. Consistency and patience are key, and we provide ongoing support to ensure success.

  • Our training programs are designed to be effective for all breeds. However, we can tailor our approach to accommodate the unique characteristics and needs of specific breeds.

Logistics and scheduling

  • You can schedule a session by contacting us through our website, phone, or email. We will arrange a convenient time for your initial consultation and subsequent training sessions.

  • For training sessions, please have your dog on-leash, your training program available, and your treat pouch ready when we arrive. Avoid pre-training right before our appointment - allow for at least an hour between your practice and our arrival.

  • We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Changes made within less than 24 hours may be subject to a $25 fee.

  • We do not offer virtual training sessions at this time.
